CESOP error 20100
“Invalid PSP's BIC format”
Caught before you file
What it means
The Reporting PSP's identifier is declared as a BIC but is not a valid one. It is how the administration recognises who is filing.
Why files get it
- A BIC with a character missing or transposed.
- An internal or national identifier labelled PSPIdType="BIC".
How to fix it
- Use the PSP's BIC as registered: 4 letters, a 2-letter country code, 2 alphanumerics, and an optional 3-character branch.
- If the identifier is not a BIC, declare PSPIdType="Other".
Check a file for 20100 before you submit
The free validator runs the CESOP business rules against your file and names the error each finding would become — 20100 included — so the Validation Result is not where you first hear about it.
The file is parsed in your browser tab. No upload, no account.
