CESOP error 10090
“The message is not a payment data message”
Caught before you file
What it means
What was submitted is not a Payment Data message: it has MessageType VLD — the Validation Result CESOP sends back — or it has no PaymentDataBody.
Why files get it
- A Validation Result received from CESOP uploaded by mistake.
- An export that stopped before writing the body.
How to fix it
- Submit a message with MessageType PMT and a PaymentDataBody. Even a 'no data to report' message carries a body naming the Reporting PSP.
Check a file for 10090 before you submit
The free validator runs the CESOP business rules against your file and names the error each finding would become — 10090 included — so the Validation Result is not where you first hear about it.
The file is parsed in your browser tab. No upload, no account.
