CESOP error 40070

“Invalid Representative's BIC format”
The catalogue’s wording · business rule RP-BR-0070
Caught before you file

What it means

The Representative's identifier is declared as a BIC but is not a valid one.

Why files get it

  • A BIC with a character missing or transposed.
  • Another identifier labelled PSPIdType="BIC".

How to fix it

  1. Use the representative PSP's BIC as registered: 4 letters, a 2-letter country code, 2 alphanumerics, and an optional 3-character branch.
  2. If it is not a BIC, declare PSPIdType="Other".

Check a file for 40070 before you submit

The free validator runs the CESOP business rules against your file and names the error each finding would become — 40070 included — so the Validation Result is not where you first hear about it.

The file is parsed in your browser tab. No upload, no account.
