CESOP error 40030
“IBAN is not valid”
Caught before you file
What it means
The IBAN has the right shape but fails its mod-97 check digits: one or more characters are wrong, and the account cannot be located.
Why files get it
- A typo in the source data.
- An IBAN truncated by a field length somewhere in the pipeline.
How to fix it
- Correct the IBAN from the source record. The check digits make a single wrong character detectable, not fixable.
